Overview

What is Dextrose?

Dextrose is a monosaccharide, or a simple sugar. It is a sweet-tasting source of carbohydrate that ranks very highly on the Glycemic Index (GI) scale. Dextrose is derived from corn and is therefore gluten free. It is rapidly absorbed by the body and can be used as a source of energy pre-workout, intra-workout and post-workout.

How can Dextrose benefit exercise performance?

The sugars provided by Dextrose are readily oxidised by the body making it an effective source of energy pre and intra workout. Due to it’s high GI nature, it will cause a large insulin spike when consumed and can be used to drive glycogen replenishment post-exercise. It is frequently mixed with a good source of protein such as LDNM Whey Protein 80 to produce recovery drinks.

Who is Dextrose suitable for?

Dextrose is suitable for any physically active individual who requires a fast acting source of carbohydrate for their pre, intra or post-workout shake.

How much should I use?

How much Dextrose you should use will be determined by individual activity levels and dietary requirements. We would recommend using 25 - 50g at any one time, this can be mixed with other supplements such as LDNM Whey Protein 80, Creapure® and LDNM Oats.

Suggested Use

Add one heaped large scoop (50g) to 200ml of water in your LDNM Buchsteiner. Shake and consume immediately. Dextrose can also be added to your protein shake or mixed with juice.

We recommend 50g in your post-workout protein shake, plus up to three servings daily to increase your calorie intake as required.

    Tastes quite sweet and when I add it to my post workout protein shake it doesn't spoil the taste. I find it helps me recover quicker, I'm usually drained after a session and have to start work straight away ( I work IN a gym lol) and this stuff gives me a bit of energy to get me through the first couple of hours!
