Overview

What Is LDNM Micellar Casein 85?

This is the purest form of casein protein available on the market, and the slowest digesting protein available. Our Casein is great before bed and at times when the body will be fasted for a number of hours as it slowly and sustainably feeds your muscle with vital amino acids. Because of the texture, Casein is also great to use in Protein Baking and leaves you feeling fuller for longer.

How does LDNM Micellar Casein Taste?

Like our LDNM Whey, this is exceptionally tasty, say bye bye to dreading your next shake!

Why should I take LDNM Micellar Casein?

Protein is a fundamental dietary requirement and is essential for growth and repair of all cells, including muscle cells. We recommend consuming 1.5-3g of protein per KG of bodyweight per day, it is often a struggle to consume this amount of protein through whole foods alone, especially for those on the move, or stuck at work. This is where LDNM’s Micellar Casein provides the perfect solution, it can be used in varying quantities, to either replace or bolster a meal, dependent on your individual macro requirements.

Why choose LDNM Micellar Casein?

LDNM is an industry leading, internationally respected brand. No false promises, no dream selling and only offering the highest quality products.

What goes well with LDNM Micellar Casein 85?

We recommend adding 5g of LDNM’s Creapure® to your LDNM Whey shake. Creatine Monohydrate increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise, meaning you’re able to work harder when training and therefore promote lean muscle adaptations. Creapure® is a micronised form of Creatine Monohydrate, and is regarded as the purest form available on the market today. We also recommend adding LDNM Oats as an easy way to add an additional source of low GI carbs to your shake.

Q&A

What is the difference between micellar casein and milk protein?

Micellar casein is 100% casein protein whereas milk protein contains approximately 80% casein and 20% whey, a similar ratio to that found in natural milk. Both are considered slow release proteins though micellar casein will be slower as it is 100% casein protein.

How does micellar casein mix and taste compared with milk protein?

As an advanced protein which is designed for function Micellar Casein's texture is not as smooth as milk protein, however taste is relatively similar.

Why should I take micellar casein instead of whey protein?

Micellar casein is 100% casein and is a slow release protein. This makes it perfect for between meals and before bed to give your body a sustained release of protein. Whey protein is better taken before and after training when an instant ‘hit’ is required.

Why do I need to take micellar casein protein?

Protein is essential for muscle growth, recovery and repair after intense training. It is difficult to achieve sufficient levels of protein through whole foods alone, therefore we recommend a protein supplement such as Micellar Casein 85.

How much protein is in Micellar Casein 85 compared to whey protein?

Micellar Casein 85 will provide 81g of protein (as-is) per 100g. This is slightly more than a standard 80% whey protein concentrate.

Is this supplement OK for people with lactose intolerance?

This protein supplement is derived from milk and as such contains lactose at approximately 6%. As an alternative we recommend LDNM Whey Protein Isolate 90™ which only contains very small amounts of lactose (2%), or our LDNM Vegan Protein which is lactose free.

What are the benefits of a slow release protein like this?

A slow release protein like this one ensures a prolonged supply of vital amino acids and nutrients meaning muscles remain fuelled for up to 7 hours. This makes Micellar Casein perfect before fasted periods, such as bed time.

Suggested Use

Add one heaped large scoop (30g) of Micellar Casein to 250ml of water in your LDNM Shaker. Shake and consume immediately. Use less liquid for a thicker and stronger tasting shake. Use milk for a creamier tasting shake.

We recommend one serving 30-60 minutes before bed to deliver a sustained supply of protein whilst you sleep. Can also be consumed between meals as required. Experts suggest a minimum 1g of protein per pound of body weight daily to promote lean muscle growth.
